How to Train Your ConFusion is thrilled and proud that our 2020 Art has been created by one of our own community members, Alex Drummer.
Alex Drummer has been doing art in one form or another since he was a small child. Over the years he has become proficient in drawing, ceramics, leather working, sewing, embroidery, woodworking, prop making, graphic design, sculpture, and metalworking. In 2014, he graduated from Wayne State University with a Masters of Fine Arts in Metalsmithing.
Since 2009, when he first attended ConFusion, he has placed in the costume contest several times including winning Best of Show in 2011 as The Blues Brothers with his friend Justin Coluzzi, and Best of Show and Best Re-Creation in 2016 as Marvin from Hitch Hikers Guide to the Universe. Over the years, he has presented a variety of panels including, but not limited to; costume and prop creation, Kilt Lore, and how to build your own T.A.R.D.I.S. and Dalek from Doctor Who. For the last two years he has helped by being one of the judges for the Costume Contest.
Alex has been running Drummer Artificer Studios since 2018, where he teaches and demonstrates the skills he has learned though his various studies. Primarily done as a YouTube channel, his hope is to eventually have a permanent space where he can teach classes on topics ranging from costuming to blacksmithing and beyond.
